Wild Bribie brings a family fun day to Apex Park at Bongaree this weekend, alongside free library storytime sessions and markets at Redcliffe, Caboolture and Samford Valley.

City of Moreton Bay Libraries’ free Storytime session combines picture books, songs, rhymes and movement activities for children aged birth to five years and their carers. The Bribie Island session runs from 9:30am.
Wild Bribie: A Family Fun Day

The Bribie Island Nature Festival’s free family day at Apex Park lets visitors meet live local animals — from lizards and snakes to echidnas and possums — and take part in DIY wildlife workshops building possum dreys, pool ramps, lizard lounges and bird nests. The event runs from 10am to 1pm; no bookings required.
Caboolture Country Markets

One of South East Queensland’s longest-established markets, running every week at the Caboolture Showgrounds from 5am to 11:30am, with hundreds of stalls selling fresh produce, handmade crafts, second-hand goods, food, rides and live equestrian events. Over 10,000 visitors each week; free entry.

The seaside market along Redcliffe Parade offers farm-direct produce, trawler-direct seafood, artisan goods, baked bread, handmade wares and live entertainment. It runs from 8am to 2pm with free entry.
Farmgate Markets at Green Thumb Farm
10 October 2026 | Green Thumb Farm, Samford Valley
This not-for-profit community farm opens its gates every morning from 8am to 11am for spray-free produce, artisan baked goods, seedlings, raw honey and fresh coffee, with a free self-guided farm walk and a Little Green Thumbs nature-play area for children.
Stallholder line-ups at markets can vary each week, so check with the organiser before making a special trip.
Weekend of 2 – 4 October 2026
The school holidays closed out with the Monster Jump inflatable park at Sandstone Point, the Pasifika Vibes Festival at Lawnton, a country family fun day at Redcliffe and kids’ art workshops at the council galleries and libraries.

Kids Art Course with Sabine von Graz

Children paint waterdrops on a small canvas in acrylic and oil in this half-day course with artist Sabine von Graz. It runs from 8.30am to 11.30am and costs $90, with all materials included.
Street Art Lab Workshops
3 October 2026 | Burpengary Community Hall, Burpengary
Young people aged 13 to 18 learn stencil-making and aerosol painting with mural artist James Wilson as part of a series creating a mural at Burpengary Sports Complex. The free workshop runs from 10.30am to 12pm; bookings required.
Kids Workshop: Wobble Goblins

Pasifika Vibes Festival 2026

South East Queensland’s largest celebration of Pacific Island and Māori cultures brings cultural performances, live music, a food village, markets, workshops and kids’ activities. Entry is from $5, with children under five free.
Dolphins Country Family Fun Day

A free afternoon of country-style family fun from 4.30pm with a petting zoo, jumping castle, face painting, arts and crafts, line dancing and a best mullet competition. Kids eat free with a main meal purchase in the bistro.

Monster Jump Sandstone Point

A 280-metre inflatable obstacle course with more than 30 challenges plus a Shark Slide runs daily from 9.30am to 3.30pm through the school holidays. Two-hour passes start at $35 and spectators enter free.
Kids Workshop: Weaving and String Making with Munimba-ja Arts

Kabi Kabi artist Bianca Bond and Lola Harward lead a two-hour workshop in traditional string making and weaving with hand-dyed raffia. Suitable for ages 8 to 17, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, $5.
