Weekend of 30 October – 1 November 2026
Halloween festivals take over the family calendar this weekend, from the Wynnum Ampol Halloween Festival at Manly and Hocus Pocus in Bulimba to Fenwick Park in Mitchelton and Trick or Treat Street at Eat Street Northshore, while a giant rubber duck floats at New Farm Park.

Riverside at the Gardens Market
1 November 2026 | City Botanic Gardens, Brisbane City
Brisbane’s original craft market, now celebrating 40 years, brings arts and crafts stalls, coffee, pancakes and international food to the City Botanic Gardens, with live music while the kids play.
Hocus Pocus
31 October 2026 | Bulimba Memorial Park, Bulimba
Billed as Brisbane’s largest Halloween festival, Hocus Pocus fills Bulimba Memorial Park with lollies, a kids’ disco, inflatables, games, performances and food trucks. Costume prizes are on offer for individuals and groups.
Halloween Spooktacular
31 October 2026 | Westfield Chermside, Chermside
Westfield Chermside runs a Trick or Treat Trail through 20 stores from 2pm to 4pm, followed by a Spooky Disco under The Dome from 3pm to 6pm with a DJ, roaming circus performers and free face painting. The trail is for Westfield members (free sign-up via the app), while stocks last.
Trick or Treat Street
30 October – 1 November 2026 | Eat Street Northshore, Hamilton
Eat Street Northshore dresses up for Halloween across three nights, with spooky dessert specials from its kitchens, themed cocktails and costumes welcome for all ages. Live entertainment runs across the riverside precinct’s stages.
Wynnum Ampol Halloween Festival
31 October 2026 | George Clayton Park, Manly
The bayside Halloween festival takes over George Clayton Park with family rides, food trucks, market stalls and main-stage entertainment, plus a best-dressed competition. The Grand Parade sets off from Darling Point at 6pm, followed by a fireworks finale over the bay.
Fenwick Park Halloween Festival
31 October 2026 | Fenwick Park, Mitchelton
Mitchelton’s community Halloween returns in Fenwick Park with live music, roving entertainers, a costume parade with prizes, free face painting, a free jumping castle and kids’ activities. Market and food stalls run alongside trick-or-treating in surrounding streets.
Fright Night Festival
31 October 2026 | Mt Ommaney Centre, Mount Ommaney
Mt Ommaney Centre’s carpark hosts a free Halloween night with carnival rides, food trucks, live entertainment, market stalls and roaming street performers. Costumes are encouraged for the best-dressed competition.
Perfect Little Planet
31 October – 1 November 2026 | Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium, Mt Coot-tha
A Cosmic Skydome tour of the Solar System through the eyes of a family of aliens on holiday from another star system, finishing with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky. Suitable for ages 4 and up.
Rubber Duck
30 October – 1 November 2026 | New Farm Park, New Farm
Florentijn Hofman’s 15-metre Rubber Duck, in a new pink edition for Melt Festival, is docked on the Brisbane River at New Farm Park. The free, all-ages public artwork can be seen from 9am to 9pm daily until 8 November.
Spooktacular Halloween Disco Party
31 October 2026 | The Sands Bowlo, Sandgate
A family Halloween disco at The Sands Bowlo, with a DJ spinning spooky and not-so-spooky favourites for costumed kids and parents. Both parents and children need a ticket; under-12-month-olds are free.
What's in the Woods? Halloween Special
31 October 2026 | Backbone Youth Arts, Seven Hills
Backbone Theatre for Babies presents a not-so-spooky Halloween edition of its sensory woodland show for toddlers, with an interactive campfire story, puppetry and play among the pumpkins. Little ones are encouraged to come in costume.
Kids Tour: Make, Believe, Magic
31 October 2026 | Gallery of Modern Art, South Brisbane
A multi-sensory, crowd-free tour of GOMA’s ‘Make, Believe, Magic: The Worlds of The Jim Henson Company’ exhibition on a quest to find Kermit the Frog, guided by dance artist Sammie Williams with singing, dancing and games. Pitched at children aged 4–8, it includes exclusive exhibition viewing before the Gallery opens.
Ghouls, Ghosts & Goodies!
31 October – 1 November 2026 | Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown, Sunnybank Hills
A self-guided Mystical Mall Crawl trick-or-treat trail through Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown, with free lollies, showbags, entertainment, face painting and doughnut decorating. Check-in is outside Kmart, and costumes are encouraged.
West End Markets
31 October 2026 | Davies Park, West End
More than 150 vendors fill Davies Park each week with farm-fresh produce, healthy fast food, boutique fashion and handcrafted gifts, with live music under the Moreton Bay figs. The market is dog friendly.
Northey Street Organic Farmers Market
1 November 2026 | Northey Street City Farm, Windsor
Northey Street City Farm’s weekly market offers organic fruit and vegetables, bread, dairy, meat, pantry goods and ethical gifts, plus kids’ activities, the City Farm Nursery and organic breakfast.
For a calmer outing, GOMA runs a kids’ tour of Make, Believe, Magic, the Mt Coot-tha planetarium screens Perfect Little Planet and markets run at West End, Windsor and the City Botanic Gardens.

Children’s Week family fun days at Everton Park and Runcorn, Spooktakular Saturday at Tingalpa and planetarium shows at Mt Coot-tha led the family calendar, alongside Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, library STEAM sessions and markets from West End to Windsor.
